Green Finance Institute

The Green Finance Institute (GFI) is a UK-based organisation, established in 2019, with the aim of shaping how finance can be used to facilitate real economy transitions. Its nature-focused team, GFI Hive, is wholly outcomes focused and seeks to;

• identify and support mechanisms and models that can unlock private sector finance into nature restoration in the near term – such as through nature markets, or supply chain resilience models.
• lay the foundations for a transition of the entire economy to become nature positive – such as through supporting the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the development of sectoral pathways (Nature Positive Pathways).

GFI Hive has joined the Nature Finance Certification Alliance to help build trusted, high-integrity nature markets and other mechanisms for channelling private capital towards nature.

Our membership enables us to collaborate on standards, transparency, and shared learnings. It supports GFI Hive ’s mission to scale nature finance with credibility and impact.
